Obituary of Alice C. Rubino

LeRoy ~ Alice C. Rubino, age 81, of Keeney Road, passed away Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 30, 2014) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. Mrs. Rubino was born May 2, 1933 in Pearl Creek, a daughter of the late Michael and Martha Bergholtz Shimburske. She will be remembered as the hardworking business partner, who with her husband, Augie, operated Rubino's Open Air Market in LeRoy for many years. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Connie Capuano of Batavia, Sarah (Ronald) Dusing of Rochester and Patty Rubino of Bergen, a special nephew and niece, Frank (Ann) Capuano of Batavia, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Augustine "Augie" Rubino on April 29, 2014, a brother, Albert (Geraldine) Shimburske, sisters, Irene and Agnes Shimburski, brothers-in-law, Frank Rubino and Salvatore Capuano and sister-in-law, Rose Marie Gervase. Family and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Joseph's Oratory, 27 Lake Street, LeRoy. Interment will be private in St. Francis Cemetery. The courtesy of no flowers is requested with memorials suggested to Volunteers for Animals, 3841 W. Main St. Rd., Batavia, NY.
