Obituary of Carol A. Hanley

LeRoy ~ Carol A. Hanley, age 75, of Erie Street, passed away Sunday evening (Feb. 8, 2015) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Mrs. Hanley was born December 19, 1939 in LeRoy, a daughter of the late Leonard and Lena Corcimiglia Filio. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening, but will be remembered mostly for her devotion to and love for her family. She will be missed by her loving husband of 54 years, Laurence Hanley; her children, Brian (Tammy) Hanley of Batavia, Teresa (John) Phelps of MS, Linda (John) Burger of Caledonia and Wayne (Annie) Hanley of LeRoy; her sister, Barbara Sharick of LeRoy; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Barbara Filio of Batavia, Angie Filio of LeRoy and Sandy Filio of LeRoy, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two sons, Dean Joseph Hanley and Kenneth Hanley and her siblings, Joseph, Samuel and Leonard Filio and Patricia Biggins. Family and friends are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake Street, LeRoy. The family will receive friends at the LeRoy Servicemen's Club (American Legion) immediately following the mass. Private interment in St. Francis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be offered to LeRoy Ambulance Service, Inc.
