Obituary of Richard M. Hagen

Covington ~ Richard M. Hagen, age 60, of Old State Road, Pavilion, NY passed away at home Friday morning, April 24, 2015. He was born July 25, 1954 in Scottsville, NY, stepson of Allen Loomis and son of the late Barbara Boutwell Loomis. Rick was a graduate of Pavilion High School. He was a welder, machinist, woodworker, and operated his own sawmill specializing in hardwoods. He designed and built his own home with his own hands. He was an avid sportsman, conservationist, and licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator who loved hunting, fishing, target shooting, and animals. He will be remembered as a generous, compassionate, loyal, dependable, ethical, intelligent man with an amazing sense of humor who never forgot a friend. Rick is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Deborah Hart Hagen; his dear feline companions, Speckle, Willie and Rosie; the only father he has ever known, Allen Loomis of Covington; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Theresa (John) Summers of Corfu, Katherine (Christopher) Livermore of Stafford, Patrick (Jennifer) Hart of LeRoy, Eileen (Robert) Ostrander of Oakfield and Barbara (Daniel) Koladzinski of Batavia; aunts and uncles, Elizabeth Boutwell Marlowe, Alice (Tom) Stefani-Hassett, Lawrence (Donna) Loomis, Jessie (Steve Spencer) Clark, and Martha Loomis, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, cousins, and friends. Everyone is invited to a Celebration of Rick's Life on Saturday, May 9 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the Cuylerville American Legion, 3193 Jones Bridge Rd., Leicester, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hearthside Cats of Geneseo, NY or SCOPE (Shooters Committee on Political Education).
