Obituary of Shirley Morrison Gray

Rochester ~ Shirley Morrison Gray, age 86, passed away Sept. 25, 2015 at the Episcopal Church Home. She was born Sept. 26, 1928 in Rochester, a daughter of the late Howard and Lucille Storr Morrison. Shirley will be remembered as a very loving and energetic person, who believed in giving to her community. She volunteered for A Meal & More, where she had served as President. She was very active at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, and also enjoyed being an usher at Geva Theatre. She was also an adventurous world traveler. She worked as a media librarian at the U of R and RIT for many years. She earned three Master Degrees from the U of R, RIT and SUNY Geneseo. She enjoyed baking and provided desserts for Phillips European Restaurant, and also worked part-time at Parkleigh Pharmacy. Shirley is survived by her children, Donna C. Gray of San Diego, Pamela G. Reger of San Diego and Douglas S. (Lori J.) Gray of Nunda; a sister, Barbara Copp of Reno, NV; grandchildren, Scott A. Gray, Sarah A. Gray (Bryan Hinze fiancé), Christopher M. Gray and Grayson W. Reger; nephews and niece, Gregory (Mika) Copp, Bradley Copp, Robert (Linda) Gray, Bonnie (David) Young and James (Seeta) Gray. Family and friends are invited to her Service of Remembrance on Friday, Oct. 2 at 6:00 P.M. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 2000 Highland Ave., Rochester, NY 14618, where a Celebration of Life reception will be held immediately after. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to either St. Thomas Episcopal Church Music Fund or A Meal & More Inc, 25 Broadway, Rochester, NY 14607
