Obituary of John W. Reschke

Batavia ~ John W. Reschke, age 79, of River Street, passed away Thursday evening (Dec. 3, 2015) at United Memorial Medical Center. He was born August 11, 1936 in Buffalo, a son of the late John and Iris Stanley Reschke. Mr. Reschke was a U.S. Army veteran, where he served as a paratrooper and was also a retiree of the Rochester Police Departement, where he proudly served as a police officer for 20 years. He will be remembered by his family as a very loving dad, father-in-law and grandpa. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan and his son, John. He is survived by his sons, Joel (Alicia) Reschke of LeRoy and James Reschke of Stafford; daughter-in-law, Cindy Reschke of Stafford; grandchildren, Chelsea, David, William, Dana, Joseph and Heather; his sisters, Joan Barr of Hilton and Judy Woodard of NC, along with nieces, nephews and dear friends. Services and interment will be private at the convenience of his family. In lieu of any flowers, memorials are suggested to Genesee Cancer Assistance, 16 Bank St., Batavia.
