Obituary of Jean Diefendorf

Stafford ~ Jean G. Diefendorf, age 91, of Main Road, passed away Wednesday afternoon (April 27, 2016) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. She was born March 29, 1925 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Carl and Gladys Perkins Pope. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, who cherished her grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and a love for people in general. Her charm and wit made her the successful waitress and bartender that she was, as she worked for many local restaurants that included the Red Osier, Ganson Inn, Candlelight and Holiday Inn. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Pamela (the late Reed) Kingsley of Stafford and Trudy (Jack) Miller of Attica; grandsons, William Trybushyn and Tyler Miller (Ashley Simmons); special nephew, David Diefendorf and her lifelong friends, Betty and Warren Ward. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles Diefendorf (1991) and her brother, Sherwood Pope. Services will be private at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to either the AVBI (Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired), 422 S. Clinton Ave., Rochester, NY 14620 or to HomeCare and Hospice, 29 Liberty Street, Batavia, NY 14020.
