I live in Europe now, and just came across this.
Brian gave me the nickname "Bishop" when he joined our class in LeRoy High after finishing at St. Peter's parochial school. My name was the same as the first R.C. bishop in the American colonies. This was my introduction to Brian's great tongue-in-cheek sense of humor. Throughout our high school years he was a good-hearted, quietly humorous guy. Just one terrific classmate.
When we were having our 50th class reunion I was already living in Europe, and I mailed a small booklet of recollections of what I had been doing since leaving LeRoy fifty years before for him to pass around. That was my last contact with Brian. He was a warm person with a generous heart. Brian was the kind of person who would be remembered for many long years by anyone who knew him.

I worked with Brian for a few years in the '90s when we were both employed in the NYSDOL Veterans Program. When I came on board he had already been around for some years. I deeply appreciated the welcoming spirit he showed me when I was the new guy on the block. And I noticed he showed the same kindness to others - he seemed free of critical judgments about others. His family must miss him deeply and my sympathy goes out to you.
Sincerely,
Ed Taggart

On the day I started with the Department of Labor in Batavia, Brian introduced himself. He became a good friend who always had my back. A prayer was said in his memory and for his soul.
