Obituary of Alice M. Macaluso

LeRoy ~ Alice M. Macaluso, age 88, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, Saturday morning (Sept. 3, 2016) at the New York State Veterans Home in Batavia. Mrs. Macaluso was born February 8, 1928 in Oakfield, NY, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret DeMars Paladino. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who had a strong devotion to her family and her faith. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish and St. Vincent de Paul, providing instruction to many with religious education classes. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her children, James (Linda) Macaluso of LeRoy and Phyllis (Jon) Frantel of Canandaigua; grandchildren, Jimmy Macaluso, Anthony Macaluso, Cathy Frantel, Joe Frantel and Annie Frantel; her sisters, Marjorie Buckley of Batavia and JoAnn (Michael) Wroblewski of MN; brother-in-law, David Vicary of Stafford, sister-in-law, Lorraine Hoffmaster of Batavia, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Michael J. Macaluso in 2015 and her sons, Michael Macaluso Jr. and Samuel Macaluso, brother, William Paladino, sister, Nina Vicary and brother-in-law, Donald Buckley. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 ~ 8 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19). Her Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake Street, LeRoy.
