Obituary of Thomas M. Dumar

York ~ Thomas M. Dumar, age 79, of Cowan Road, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, May 12, 2012. He was born January 8, 1933 in Mineville, N.Y., son of the late William and Frances Brooks Dumar. Mr. Dumar was veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a retiree of Lapp Insulator in LeRoy, where he was a shop foreman for many years. He was also an all-around outdoorsman and thoroughly loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his dear friend and loving companion, Janice Furr of LeRoy, his sons; Thomas (Tina) Dumar of New Berlin, NY, Daniel (Judy) Dumar of Lima, John Dumar of Batavia and Andrew Dumar of GA, his sisters; Catherine Monyhan of Moriah, Margaret Kolodzey of Moriah, Marion Noel of Ticonderoga, Carol Roth of FL, Nancy Welch of FL and Theresa Shufelt of FL, along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Dumar was predeceased by his loving wife, Jane Dumar in 2004, a brother, William Dumar and a sister, Ann [Justine] Welch. There are no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass on Saturday, May 19 at 10:00 AM at St. Lucy’s Church, 2770 Retsof Ave, Retsof, NY. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Fowlerville. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads House, 11 Liberty St., Batavia, NY 14020.
