Obituary of Cecilia F. Plossl

Cecilia Felicity Falcon was born August 3, 1930 on the Coeur d’Alene Indian Reservation in DeSmet, Idaho to Philip Joseph Falcon and Anne Vallee. Though enrolled as Coeur d’Alene, she was a Spokane descendant. After the death of her mother, she spent her childhood with aunts and cousins who loved her very much. Upon graduation, she moved to Seattle where she worked at Kings County Hospital. It was in Seattle that she met her beloved Roger, who was stationed there during the Korean War. They married on February 21, 1953 and returned to New York State where she lived for the rest of her life. As a small child, her nickname was Tiny. When she became a teenager, she changed her name to “Teena”, after a movie star, because it was more sophisticated. She was known by that ever since. Teena and Roger began their life of adventures in Batavia, NY. Roger began working as a civil engineer building the new Eisenhower Interstate System with Lane Construction, and the family began to grow. This job required them to move every two or three years, and when the number of children reached five, Roger accepted a job with Potter-DeWitt Corp. in Pavilion, where they resided ever after. As empty nesters, they travelled the world, visiting Australia, Europe and driving cross-country many times. Teena never learned to golf, but was happy to travel with Roger to Florida every winter and shop the outlets while Roger hit the links. She loved to shop and to hang out with her grandchildren! Teena was a very resourceful woman who could sew clothes for her children, can & freeze produce to get us through the winters, and find time to nurture her children’s interests in sports and the arts. She loved manhattans and the casino equally. She was an active member of both the Ladies of Charity and the Firemen’s Auxiliary. She was a devoted Catholic who lived her faith with all her heart and soul. She would travel anywhere at the drop of a hat, and never missed her grandchildren’s games, even if she rarely knew the score. She loved all people with abundance and would talk to everyone, friend and stranger, like she knew them her whole life. She is survived by her children, Renee (Gary) Rigoni, Philip (Ellen) Plossl, Karen Plossl, Anne Stevens, Joseph Plossl (Billie Jo), John (Beth) Plossl; along with 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Roger Plossl, her brother, Irvin Falcon, and her children, Marie and Kenny Plossl. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 ~ 6 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Church in Pavilion. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Church, 11095 St. Mary’s Street, Pavilion, N.Y. 14525.
