Obituary of Thelma H. Brown

LeRoy ~ Thelma "Myra" Brown, age 99, passed away on June 13, 2017.
     She was born on Jan. 9, 1918 in Canaan, Vermont, a daughter of the late Walter G. and Thelma Marshall Harriman. 
     She was a resident of Premier Genesee County Nursing Home and previously lived in LeRoy since her marriage to Francis H. Brown during WW II.  He served as a 1st LT in the Army and she was in the Women's Army Corps.  They were married in Newport News, VA on January 22, 1944.
     Myra graduated from Keene State Teacher's College in NH and Geneseo State School.  She taught elementary school in both Vermont and then twenty years at the fourth grade level at Wolcott Street School in LeRoy.
     Myra can be remembered as having a sweet demeanor, living a Christian life and being a wonderful homemaker and mother.  She was a 70 year member of the LeRoy United Methodist Church.
     In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Francis and her sisters.
     Left to grieve her passing, are her children; Dennis Brown of Warsaw, Marilynn (Dave) Palotti of East Bethany and Judith (Sig) Barber of Grinnell, Iowa; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
     Services for Myra will be held at a later date.
