It seems just a few years ago we were graduating in the SCS class of 1964.
The baseball games, the band and choral concerts are our memories now.
I feel so sad, but glad we were able to keep in touch over the last 50 years.
Condolences to Sue and the rest of your family.

Mr. Tripp was one of my favorite Leroy H.S. teachers. He often made me laugh and taught me lessons beyond the academics- such as not to take myself so seriously.
May he rest in peace. Condolences to his wife and family.

Dear Sue, I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing, and Alice and I offer our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Bill was certainly a fixture at LeRoy HS and, as a fellow English teacher, I always appreciated him, both as a colleague and as a person. He taught both of our girls--Laura (1986) and Dina (1989). They both spoke highly of him. Please know that you will be in our thoughts. Jim

To all of you who loved Bill,
Please know that our thoughts and prayers of strength and healing are with you. Who would ever deny Bill's awe-some sense of humor and great wit?! More than a chip off the old block, he was a mighty branch. We are imagining the reunion taking place in our Eternal home, and smiling out loud as they all catch up on the issues and b-s! This world has lost a kind man...Heaven wins this one.

There are too many attributes to list. I will miss bumping into him and of course all the humorous comments. Many times I have told the Bill Tripp stories, especially the ball canning jar payback. I was truly saddened to hear of Mr. Tripp's passing. I was in the class of 1971 and he was one of my favorite teachers. He was even kind enough to help me with a college project when I delved into the works of T.S. Elliot. (I got an A).
May your memories become a comfort and know that he was thought of fondly by many.
May God bless all of you, his family, and hold Mr. Tripp in the palm of His hand.

I will always remember "Mr. Tripp" as my very favorite high school teacher. I remember how he rewarded one of my best writings with a great, big "A" plastered across the page. That's not the reason he was my favorite teacher, though. He captured us all with his fine style of teaching, helping us to make sense and see importance in learning. Also, as a life long teacher myself, I respect his ways and talent for being a fine, fine teacher who loved and connected with his students so well. He is loved and will be missed dearly. Prayers to his entire family.

My sincerest condolences on the news of Mr. Tripp’s passing. Though, during my time as a student, there were many fine teachers at Le Roy High school, Mr. Tripp was definitely memorable to me. I have read that there are several measures of a great teacher, a passion for it, patience (mostly), tough love, belief in what you are doing…belief in the student. In my opinion, a great teacher has a substantial impact on the student, beyond the statistical measure of a test score, or the number of homework assignments completed. For me, Mr. Tripp was one of the great ones. I have always been a reader, but I did not grade very well in his class…more from procrastination, avoidance, and attentiveness to some of the details – but he spent extra time on me and I do thank him. After school, in my adult life, I can say that it was because of Mr. Tripp’s impact on me, that I do remember his class - more than many others – as well as the subject matter. I remember words that he did not like - I won't repeat them here, out of respect (I do not like some of them either, and have my own list). I remember Death of a Salesman, and attended a reading of Arthur Miller’s unfinished works by his son Jason. I remember Of Mice and Men; To Kill a Mocking Bird; Slaughterhouse-Five; 1984; The Jungle; Catch-22; and so many more. I found myself buying a copy of Ethan Frome, in my forties, because I remember. Thank you Mr. Tripp, and God Bless.
