Obituary of James F. Driscoll

LeRoy ~ James F. Driscoll, age 80, of Gilbert Street, passed away at home early Friday morning (October 13, 2017) in the loving presence of his family.
     He was born July 6, 1937 in Leicester, N.Y., a son of the late John and Mary Daly Driscoll.
     Jim was a very loving husband, father and grandfather, who was devoted to his family and his faith.  Known as the "LeRoy Handyman", Jim enjoyed helping his LeRoyans with his painting and other jobs.  He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, a volunteer fireman for many years and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Oatka Fish & Game Club, the Chemical Hose Company and the American Legion. Jim was also a retiree of Lapp Insulator where he provided 40+ years of service.
     He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Catherine McGuire Driscoll; his children, James (Judy) Driscoll of CO, John (Kerry) Driscoll of LeRoy and Patricia Kellogg of LeRoy;  grandchildren, Gregory Jr., Nicholas, Daniel, Christopher, Alanna, Danielle and Ryan; great-grandson, Parker James; brother, John P. "Jack" Driscoll of Geneseo; a special, loving niece, Kelly (Rick Jr.) Cooper of LeRoy and their children, Katelyn, Thomas and Scott, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
     In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by a brother and three sisters and his loving pet, Sadie.
     Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 ~ 9 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc, 8700 Lake Road (Rt 19), LeRoy.  His Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake St., LeRoy, with interment to follow in St. Francis Cemetery.
