Obituary of Mary Lou Swabb
Batavia ~ Mary Lou Swabb, age 78, formerly of East Main Street, passed away Saturday morning (Dec. 30, 2017) at the Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw.
She was born January 2, 1939 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Murray and Helen Tesch Deuel.
Mary Lou will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend to many. Early on in her life, she worked on the farm and eventually went on to waitress for 25 years, became a homecare and health aide and drove bus for Heritage Manor in LeRoy.
She is survived by her daughters; Joanne (Greg) Severson of Varysburg and Teresa (Christopher) Whaley of Pavilion; her son, Marion DeFelice of Arcade; 10 grandchildren;
8 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Herman (Gertrude) Deuel of Wyoming, Betty Freeman of Darien Center, Ruth (James) Meyers of Honeoye Falls, Elaine (Richard) Radford of NH, Linda (Bill) Thompson of Pavilion and Dorothy (Ray) Spoly of Alden; sister in law, Mabel Deuel; dear friend, Donald G. Hart of Batavia, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Alice Stone, Lorraine Palmer, Bernard Deuel, James Deuel and Anne Nolan.
A luncheon will be served on January 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM for family and friends at the Pavilion Fire Department Hall. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Care-A-Van Ministries, Inc., P.O. Box 1611, Batavia, N.Y. 14021.
