Obituary of Curtis Lamar Murray

LeRoy ~ Curtis L. Murray, age 91, of North Street Road, passed away Sunday morning (April 1, 2018) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.

     He was born December 14, 1926 in Amite, LA, a son of the late Curtis T. and Lillie M. Allen Murray.

     Curtis was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who had a strong faith.  He became a deacon through the Batavia Christian Fellowship Church and was a current member of the Faith Community Chapel in Batavia.  He was a US Army veteran of WW II, worked as a carpenter and enjoyed bee keeping and gardening.  He also loved to share stories with his family and friends.

      He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Sally Shephard Murray; his children, Curtis E. (Debbie) Murray of LeRoy and Linda (Paul) Stoll of LeRoy; his step-children, William (Loraine) Mapes, Robert Mapes, Julie Morales, Wendy (Dan) Beilstein and Jason (Melissa) Mapes; grandchildren, Matthew Stoll, Nathan Stoll and Jennifer Murray; 3 step-grandchildren; his brother, Richard (Patricia) Murray, along with many nieces and nephews.

     In addition to his parents, Curtis was predeceased by his first wife of 50 years, Angeline; infant granddaughter, Paula Lin Stoll, and his siblings, William, Carl, Carey, Norman Murray and Eugenia Walker.

     Services and interment will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the VA Medical Center in Batavia, 222 Richmond Ave., Batavia, NY 14020.
