Obituary of Francis C. Ashley

Stafford ~ Francis C. Ashley, age 83, passed away Friday afternoon (August 17, 2018) at home, surrounded by his loving family.

     He was born July 27, 1935 in Batavia, a son of the late William and Geraldine Haynes Ashley.

     Francis was a graduate of LeRoy Central School and Canisius College.  He also served with the U.S. Army. He retired in 1996 as finance director of Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, N.Y.   He was an avid baseball fan and especially fond of the Boston Red Sox.  His biggest love of all though, was his family, which meant everything to him.

     He is survived by his loving wife of almost 61 years, Donna Ellis Ashley; his children, Mark (Laura) Ashley, Michael Ashley, Matthew (Rebecca) Ashley and Anne Phillips; his grandchildren, Misty Ashley, Deanne Ashley, Andrew (Jennalee) Ashley, Ethan Ashley and Dylan Ashley; several step grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, William Ashley, Ray (Regina) Ashley and Gerry (Phyllis) Ashley, along with 4 nephews.

     He was predeceased by his son, Andrew Ashley; sister, Peggy Ashley and son-in-law, George Phillips.

     Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
