I just heard the news and I am heartbroken. Liz was a good friend of mine in college. We played rugby together and shared a lot of the same classes over the years. She always made me laugh and I have so many happy memories of sharing time with her. I ran into Liz about a year ago. It was so great to see her after so many years, and I could see how happy she was being a mom. She has a special place in my heart. I will keep Liz and her beautiful family in my thoughts. With love, Katie

Dear,Mr.Green and family
I am so sorry for the loss of Mrs. Green. Please find comfort in knowing that she will always be remembered by all of her students at Avon Central School. Mrs.Green always opened her door for me and she was always there when i needed her help through tough times and rough days.
my most favorite memories of Mrs.Green was for the story book parade when Austin came to school as a little dog.
my other memory was when i was in her room for lunch bunch she would always put frozen on and sing it it was so funny.
my other one was when she would always dance in the hallway when music would come on
in loving memory Mrs.Green
Love. Kylie McCready

My sincerest condolences for your loss, Roger. May the beauty of the Ave Maria by Franz Biebl, once a WWII German POW in the USA, sooth the sorrow that you, your family and Liz's friends and students are now experiencing. The composer shared it with Thomas Sokol, Cornell University Glee Club Director on the occasion of a Glee Club performance for Bavarian Radio in Munich. Since then, it has become a favorite of the men of the Glee Club and many others as it popularity has grown. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QES9tr7nwaU
May Liz rest in peace!

Liz lives on in the hearts of many hundreds of her students who she loved as if they were her own. In addition to doing incredible work at Avon, she created programs, enlisted support, wrote grants and educated fellow helping professionals throughout Livingston County and beyond to understand and respond to childhood trauma, and to build resilience in young people. Liz did a lifetime's worth of work within the space of half a lifetime. It's just a tragedy that she didn't get to be here with her family for the other half, though I know her spirit will always be with them. Along with many others with whom she worked, I already miss working with and knowing Liz. Her kind, positive spirit was contagious. I plan to do whatever I can to carry her legacy forward.

I had the privilege of knowing Liz for four years during efforts on committees to reduce violence and raise awareness in our communities. From the first meeting I was notably impressed with Liz's leadership, efficiency, professionalism and passion. She was the type of leader I wanted to become.
During my own time of loss, she was a comforting word and warm gesture in a sea of awkward "sorrys" and shuffling feet. In a world where resigned cynicism is common currency she injected compassion and a hope that things didn't have to stay this way. Her passionate desire and skilled leadership were the reason trauma informed best practices became a priority for Livingston county, and I can honestly say without her this endeavor likely would not have happened.
The world will not be the same without her, but it is forever changed by her. I am holding her children, family and friends in my heart, thoughts, and prayers. My condolences to them on this tragic loss.
