It is with a heavy heart that we remember Jim, whose endearing gentleness and kindness was consistently present from our shared childhood to adulthood. His extraordinary intelligence always shone through in his careful attention to detail at the Shelby jewelry store, and in his compassionate service at church. His life echoed faith-filled humility, personifying patience and kindness. His absence leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew him deeply. May consolation find its way to his family during this time of sorrow.

Sharon and Family,
I just learned about Jim's passing. What a loss! Jim was always such a great guy, and so much fun to hang out with at the Scottish games. I'll always treasure the times we spent together at Olcott, but my favorite memory is of the two of us heading into town to go to Mass on a Saturday night one year.
Sharon - you are in my prayers and if there's anything at all I can do for you, please let me know.
Bob

Sharon and family, I'm so very sorry for the loss of this wonderful man. He, and all of you at the store, were always so very, very helpful. There wasn't a need to go to the city to find a gorgeous gift for First Holy Communion, or Confirmation, or any gift in particular. And where else could we go to just see all the beautiful things in the store and have Jim spend time explaining everything that I ever asked. He was always so helpful, even if he was in the middle of fixing something for someone. He was a very special person and will always be guiding all of you from Heaven. Blessings and peace.

Dear Shelby family members,
I am saddened to hear of Jim’s passing. As a childhood neighbor, I have fond memories of Jim and remember him as always being kind to us kids even when we were a nuisance I’m sure. I always looked up to Jim for his quiet confidence and sincerity that shined through his every day actions. I had the pleasure of knowing Jim in adulthood through church and the Shelby’s jewelry store and his generosity with giving me the best product at the best price!
I will always remember Jim and I offer his family and friends my sincere condolences and prayers.
Fondly,
Mary Beth Fatcheric Ransom
