Obituary of Ruby A. Ackley

LeRoy ~ Ruby A. Ackley, age 90, of Bernd Road, passed away early Sunday morning (August 4, 2019) at United Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

     She was born September 9, 1928 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Harry and Pearl Sage Shepard.

     Ruby will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and dear friend, who had a great sense of humor and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She enjoyed taking rides with Reid and time spent with family and friends.  

     She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Douglas) Janes of Pavilion and Linda Ackley (John Woods) of Batavia; grandchildren, Carrie (Dave) Mullen, John (Michelle) Doyle, Amy Cooper, Ricky (Kelly) Cooper Jr. and Abbey (Cooper) Wilson; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; her siblings, Dorothy (Peter) Kelly of Perry, Robert (Barbara) Shepard of Pavilion, Sandra Sherman of Pavilion and Sharon (Russell) Kelso of Pavilion, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Reid W. Ackley, grandson, Fran Doyle, brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Susan Shepard and brother-in-law, Gerald Sherman.

     Per Ruby's request, there will be no visitation or services.  Interment in Machpelah Cemetery will be private.

     Memorials are suggested to the LeRoy Ambulance Service or to a charity of the donor's choice.
