Obituary of Rose M. Haskin

LeRoy ~ Rose M. Haskin, age 92, of Madison Avenue, passed away Tuesday evening (February 25, 2020) at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. She was born April 8, 1927 in St. Ferdinand, Italy, a daughter of the late Joseph and Rose D’Agostino Misiti. Rose was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend to many. She worked for Rochester Telephone as an operator for 25 years, both in LeRoy and Rochester. Her passion though, was being a historian. Her expertise was the time era surrounding the Civil War. She enjoyed sharing her knowledge of that time and was a member of the Genesee County Civil War Round Table. She will be sadly missed by her son, Douglas (Karen) Haskin of Honeoye Falls; granddaughter, Rachel Haskin; brother, Joseph “Sam” (Maureen) Misiti of LeRoy; sisters-in-law, Angie Misiti of Batavia and Louise Misiti of Medina, along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas in 2000 and her siblings, Vincent Misiti, Vito Misiti, Frances Rapone and Carm Humphrey. Family and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, March 2 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake Street, LeRoy. Interment in St. Francis Cemetery will be private.
