Obituary of Josephine V. Biggs

LeRoy ~ Josephine V. Biggs, age 96, passed away early Sunday morning (April 27, 2014) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home. Mrs. Biggs was born January 27, 1918 in LeRoy, a daughter of the late Charles and Agnes Gioia Leone. She will be remembered as a very loving person, who was a very active, lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her sister, Agnes (Dan) Iannicello of Baldwinsville, a step-son, Garnet (Norma) Biggs of VA, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Biggs and her siblings, Mary Kownaski, Frank Leone and Thomas Leone. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 10 ~ 11 A.M. at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Joseph's Oratory, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00. Interment will follow in St. Francis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to either the American Legion's Ladies Auxiliary or the "Sunshine Fund" of the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.
