When we were young, and Nicole was a baby, Mary Ann was home painting the kitchen. I called her for something, don't remember what, and when I learned she was painting AND dealing with a toddler, I asked casually if she wanted some help. "HELL YES!" she said, and I was there in a flash. The day was so much fun. It's a fond memory, us laughing and painting and playing with the baby. She was always one to offer her support and help, in any situation. She helped me wallpaper a single large wall in my dining room. We stood back, looked at it, looked at each other, shook our heads, and ripped it down! Laughing the entire time. Quiet and unassuming, she could surprise you with her wit and humor. I will miss her so very much.
