Obituary of Rita E. Lynch

Greece / LeRoy ~ Rita E. Lynch, age 104, formerly of West Main Street Road, passed away Saturday morning (Nov. 2, 2019) at Strong Memorial Hospital.

     She was born October 17, 1915 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Canty Gallagher.

     Rita was a loving wife, sister, aunt and dear friend to many.  She was employed as a bookkeeper for the William Conlon Service Station on Lake Street in LeRoy.  Rita was a beautiful piano player, a wonderful painter and enjoyed doing needlepoint.

     She is survived by several nieces and nephews, along with many dear friends.

     She was predeceased by her husband, Charles "Michael" Lynch; brother, Joseph Gallagher and sisters, Mary Gallagher, Margaret Gallagher and Delores Potter.

     Rita's family wish to extend their appreciation to her "family" at Fleming Point Senior Living for their care and kindness, to Rita's friends for their prayers and well wishes and to Strong Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their compassionate care.

     Family and friends are invited to her Memorial Mass on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake Street, LeRoy.  Entombment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Batavia, will be private.

     In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Palliative Care Program, U of R Medical Center, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Box 687, Rochester, NY 14642 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
